Our ornate Victorian entrance hall with original wood features
Built in the Victorian era (circa 1890), Athol House has seen a great many visitors over the years.

In fact, we've had a number of comments (and photos) from previous guests, some of whom worked at, met at or honeymooned at the bed and breakfast in the 60s or earlier.

A century after it was built though, the building had fallen into disuse and when the previous landlady and her family took over, it was in a severe state of disrepair.

Renovation started in 2003 and included full refurbishment of all rooms to include en-suite facilities, in many cases turning three rooms into two to ensure the comfort of guests.

Although many of the building's original Victorian features were lost over the years, efforts were made to preserve the entrance, hallway and dining room with ornate woodwork, plaster mouldings, panelling and stained glass windows.

The end result is a comfortable bed and breakfast with clean, uncluttered bedrooms decorated to a high standard and communal areas that reflect the building's long heritage.

Why not come along and see it for yourself?
